It’s easy to confuse dysesthesia with paresthesia or hyperalgesia, both of which can also occur with MS. Sometimes, it’s diagnosed as a psychological condition, but it can also be related to jaw misalignment. The underlying cause of OD isn’t well understood. Occlusal dysesthesia (OD), also called phantom bite syndrome, is discomfort in the mouth when biting, usually with no obvious cause. ![]() The symptoms, which can range from mild tingling to severe pain, may be triggered by anything from clothing to a gentle breeze. I'm unable to ease my mind right now, since my mind is jumping to things like permanent nerve damage, MS, etc.ĭoes anyone else experience tingling all over with their anxiety? I'll admit I had some anxiety during and after the acupuncture, since I was aware some very very rare but very serious side effects can occur. Right now my foot feels super cold and my arm is aching. Sometimes it feels itchy, other times it straight up hurts. The tingling/numbness ranges from dull aching to cold prickly sensations. She said that pain is normal, but the tingling/numbness is not. I contacted the acupuncturist after waking up today (I wanted to give it 24 hours) since I was still experiencing these symptoms. ![]() Fingers, palms, forearms, elbows, upper back, spine, calves, feet, toes, forehead. My back pain is way worse, and I have weird tingling sensations all over. I found her, and had my first session 50 hours ago. Being the careful person I am, I researched for months trying to find a really qualified acupuncturist with zero bad reviews. I was advised by multiple people to go try acupuncture. It has resulted in major back pain and neck/jaw tension. I've always had mild to moderate anxiety, but it's been especially bad during the past year. ![]() I'm ironically having a lot of anxiety over something that may be caused by my anxiety in the first place.
